AsphaltEdge
Restraint Goal
-
AsphaltEdge is designed to allow for full and consistent material
thickness to the edge of the pavement.
- AsphaltEdge
helps prevent broken edges typical to traditional asphalt and
provides a maintainable, finished edge to your asphalt installation.
*Application
Overview
-
AsphaltEdge is anchored into the compacted base using 3/8”
x 10” spiral steel spikes.

Base (binder) course of asphalt is laid on compacted base following
AsphaltEdge installation instructions.

Finish course of asphalt is laid on base (binder) course following
AsphaltEdge installation instructions.
- Semi-compact
backfill material adjacent to the completed asphalt installation
providing additional support.

specifications.
Anchoring
3/8” x 10” spiral steel spikes anchored 4” to
12” on center depending on depth and compaction of base material.
- Anchor
at ends of each section in addition to guidelines indicated below.

For a shallow and/or loosely compacted base, 4” to 8”
on center spacing recommended.
- For
deeper and/or densely compacted base, 12” on center spacing
recommended.
AsphaltEdge Product:
AsphaltEdge product (height) is determined by the depth of the asphalt.
Example; 2-1/2” of asphalt = 2-1/2” AE. |
